The London Fire Brigade Lambeth Headquarters
In 2008 the London Fire Brigade moved Headquarters from Albert Embankment to a building in Union Street (London SE 1), close to our Training Centre. The 8 storey building on Albert Embankment, which had been the Headquarters for 70 years, was purpose built for the London Fire Brigade between 1934 and 1937 and was officially opened on 21st July 1937 by King George VI and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. To commemorate the move we have put together a collection of images of the Lambeth Headquarters over the years.
